Angela Backus, DVM
Angela Backus was born and raised here in Florida where her love of animals began early in life. Childhood was spent caring for a variety of pets from dogs and cats to snakes, birds and pocket pets. She received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Florida in 2000. She went on to attend Ross University completing the final year at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.
Dr. Backus loves working with pets and their families to help strengthen the human-animal bond. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, but has a strong interest in internal medicine, dermatology, senior care, and preventative medicine.
She adores her two young sons Ryder and Hunter, has a Blue Nose pit bull named Vica, and two kitties named Trouble and Coco. In her free time she enjoys live music, being at the beach, and spending time with her family.
